What is SUMO all about?
SUMO.tv is a Website and TV channel to showcase the best in User Generated Content and to share the revenue earned from user submissions with the people who actually make the content. SUMO.tv is more than just that though, we are also introducing people to content they may never have seen before, the kitsch, the strange and the odd. We think there is a world of content out there that has never seen the light of day and deserves an audience. Users can also create their own TV channel online. We are also interested in broadcasting your picks and webcam commentary.

Who would watch Sumo.tv?
Sumo is for everyone, everywhere. We have filters on the site for further parental control as well. You can watch SUMO.tv on the web, on SKY Satellite TV and on mobile TV as well via our mobile TV platform.

Can you tell me more about the SKY channel?
All the best videos are selected by our trained staff and broadcast on our Sky channel which you can see on channel 206. This is an amazing opportunity to get your videos and opinions viewed by even more people.

How do I create my own channel?
Once you register you can create your MySUMO.tv channel. You will automatically receive your unique site address. i.e. http://www.sumo.tv/YOUR_USERNAME You now have your own Web TV channel. You can create a playlist, which will be played back to back and streamed across the internet to all those who wish to view your OWN channel plus you can put your own webcam videos into the playlist as well.

Who put these videos on the site?
Content can come from many sources, we take original content produced by you either by video, mobile and with our unique webcam direct feed. In addition we welcome the inclusion of links to other sites from around the world where you feel it would be of interest to other users of the SUMO.tv site

Do you show these other sites content on your TV show?
NO, we only accept original material uploaded or captured by our users. We do not use content that is linked from our site for broadcast.

How can I upload my own video?
Very easily, on our upload page there are several ways to send us your content. If you have a webcam connected to your PC or Mac (insert your flash compatible OS here) then you can record direct to our site. The content is automatically inserted into your account.

Will it be definitely show on TV?
If it conforms to our terms of acceptability and it is your own content free of copyright, then yes, it is most likely to appear. We broadcast 24hrs a day, 7 days a week so we can normally find somewhere to place it.

Do I need special software to watch the videos?
No, a browser that can play flash will work with our site.

Do I need to register?
You will need to register to gain access to some of our content. Where it has been deemed by our community to need a family filter tag then you are required to log in to watch it.

What if I think something is unsuitable?
Each video page has a link where you can submit your reasons or concerns about a video. A human reads and reviews all these as we take this responsibility seriously.

What are the LUUP details for?
If you upload then we can pay you via LUUP.

What if I don’t have LUUP?
Dont worry, we are tracking all of your earnings and will be putting in place additional payment methods over the coming weeks.

Do I just earn money from uploads?
Not necessarily, we also are implementing payments for those of our users that spot broken video links, refer friends or help run our category and editors pick pages. We will inform registered users as each programme comes online.

Can I earn money for my clips then?
Yes, we are working closely with advertisers and for now offer a revenue share on the advertising we carry on your video pages. We also have a WAP site that allows our users to earn from videos downloaded to people's mobiles. Another unique feature of SUMO.tv

Can I advertise on SUMO or the TV Station?
Yes, please contact us via info@sumo.tv and we can discuss your requirements.

What if I see a video of mine linked on your site?
In those cases we will either refer you to the site you originally posted your video on but can assist you in restricting access to your content.
